Bostleman Corp. and Rudolph/Libbe, Inc. have been honored with a prestigious 2008 Build Ohio Award for their work on the ProMedica Renaissance Project. The awards were announced November 14 by the Associated General Contractors of Ohio in Columbus.
The project won top honors in the Construction Management Category.
The nearly 500,000-square-foot campus expansion and renovation of the Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital was the largest construction project in ProMedica history. Built on an extremely tight site, construction took place over, around and connected to the existing hospital, with no disruption to hospital operations.
“The success of this project was truly the result of great teamwork,” stated Bill Bostleman, president of Bostleman. “The partnership consisting of ProMedica, architect, NBBJ, mechanical contractors Dunbar/Dimech, electrical contractors GEM/Laibe, our partner Rudolph/Libbe, and Bostleman worked in spirit of collaboration that culminated in the Renaissance Project meriting this award.”
“We’re pleased to receive this recognition for our work on the Renaissance Project,” said Bill Rudolph, chairman of Rudolph/Libbe Companies. “We had a great partner in Bostleman and a great customer in ProMedica. And we had a great project staff and craftspeople from Rudolph/Libbe Inc. and GEM Inc. providing the skill, dedication and hard work that are so integral to a successful project. It’s an honor to have worked on a building that means so much to our community.”
Build Ohio is an annual awards competition that honors members of the Associated General Contractors of Ohio for excellence in construction. A panel of retired construction professionals selected winners based on Build Ohio criteria: excellence in project management, innovation in construction techniques or materials, client service and meeting project challenges.
