The newest location of Children’s Discovery Center, at 8011 Dutch Road in Waterville, is now open and enrolling. The center was designed based on Italian villa theme, created by SSOE architect Robert Siebenaller in collaboration with Discovery Center personnel. Bostleman acted as construction manager for the project.
Lois Mitten-Rosenberry, founder and owner, began Children’s Discovery Center as a place where working parents could find high quality care for their children. Her childcare philosophy was based on that of Reggio Emilia, and considers a child’s environment to be an integral component to learning. The new Waterville location is the sixth Children’s Discovery Center built upon this philosophy of creating a visually appealing, interactive environment. Rosenberry expressed her pleasure to have the opportunity to “provide Waterville’s children with a strong foundation for learning, where parents will feel secure leaving their children in our care.”
The center boasts bright, open spaces for children to explore and grow. Its focal point is The Discovery Room, featuring an interactive castle, an open-air market, a fountain ball pit and a stage. The center will serve up to 190 children from six weeks to 10 years old. |
