Bostleman Corp. Honored with 2003 Build Ohio Award for the Trinity Episcopal Church Renovation Project

Bostleman Corp. is pleased to announce to all of our friends and associates that we were recently honored with the esteemed 2003 Build Ohio Award in the Renovation category for the Trinity Episcopal Church Nave Renewal Project. The Build Ohio Award, presented by The Associated General Contractors of Ohio, is one of the most prestigious awards in construction, recognizing excellence in the construction industry.

Trinity Episcopal Church was built in 1842, some 20 years before the Civil War, yet this historic renovation was allotted less than seven months for completion. Architectural treasures were discovered throughout the renovation process, including a symbol of the Trinity Fleur de lis, which was uncovered on nave panels.

Additional exciting features of the project included:

• Original pew ends became cabinet doors
• The 6,700 lb alter was moved, reworked and made to be mobile
• Six 12"-14" trusses were repainted and re-grained; the seventh truss is actually a Trompe L'oeil painting designed to look like a real truss
• Bostleman designed a special scaffolding system to reach a 64' high peaked ceiling so the restoration work could be performed on the ceiling

Despite the uncertainties of working on a 160-year old structure and having to create innovative construction methods, the project was brought in under budget, allowing Trinity to complete additional items from their "wish list."
